KYBER SmartNote
KYBER SmartNote, a propriety stationery developed by KYBER, has been a huge hit ever since its release. And now, starting Nov. 15, we are adding a totally new lineup of notes!
On the surface, KYBER SmartNote looks just like an ordinary memo pad -- you write on it with a normal pen. However, take a picture of the paper you wrote on with your phone's camera and upload it. Then watch as your handwriting is accurately converted to digital text within minutes! The text is stored alongside the image in your online account so you can access it whenever you want and use it in various ways such as sending e-mails, exporting to popular sites, editing it, and copying it for use in other programs.

♦Tags
We've added a tag area to each note. If you write a tag in this area, it will be uploaded with the image and the system will recognize and store it as a tag associated with that image and text. Not only that, when you export it to services such as Evernote, the tag will also be sent for you.
♦Calendar
Add events to your Google Calendar. We've added "From" and "To" fields so you can enter the start and end time of an event. Then along with the date, title, and description areas you can write down your events, digitize them, and export them to your Google calendar.
* KYBER SmartNote is not supported on iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4G. Even though they have cameras, their resolutions are too low to get a clear picture. However, these devices can be used as viewers.

Activation procedure
After purchasing KYBER SmartNote, begin by activating your notes. This will allow you to digitize your handwriting once for each page. For example, if one notepad has 29 pages, you can upload and digitize your handwriting 29 times, once for each page.
* Uploading a picture of a note which is not activated will be counted as part of the normal KYBER service.
* Additional charges may apply depending on your phone's data plan or internet subscription.
* KYBER SmartNote is not supported on iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4G. Even though they have cameras, their resolutions are too low to get a clear picture. However, these devices can be used as viewers.
- Search for "KYBER" in the App Store and download it (grey icon). If you are a first time user, follow the instructions to register your account.

» You can also register for a new account here. - After the application starts up, tap the "Activation" button in the lower left corner.
- To activate a note, tap "Activation" on the main screen and then "Snap QR Code" or "Manual Entry".
For "Manual Entry", enter the 10-digit ID number found under the QR Code and press the activation button.
- Write a note, take a picture, and send it. Your handwriting will be converted to digital text which you can use for e-mail and other purposes.

Reminders when using KYBER SmartNote
> Accidentally taking a picture of an empty page and uploading it will be counted as one digitize ticket.
> KYBER SmartNote was designed to digitize handwriting written directly on the note. If used in another way, the note might not be digitized.
> Once activated, the appropriate number of digitize tickets will be added and displayed in the application. Please confirm that the counts correspond to the correct paper type and size.
> There are several camera modes when taking a picture.
» KYBER SmartNote Mode
Please use this mode when taking a picture of a KYBER SmartNote. This mode cannot be used for other types of notes.» KYBER Mode
You can use this mode to take a picture of anything which includes text and have it digitized. This includes not only handwritten notes and whiteboards, but also signs, flyers, and posters. Of course, you can also use this mode in conjunction with CamiApp (Twin Ring A7) and KYBER SmartNote, however please be careful because this mode has its own pricing. Please use this mode when taking a picture of a CamiApp note. This mode cannot be used for other types of notes. Details about using CamiApp with KYBER are here.
> Your handwriting may not be recognized if you write across the solid line. Writing across the dotted line is okay.
» Why you should not write across the solid line?
The system interprets the solid lines as page separators so as to increase the speed and accuracy of digitizing. This also ensures increased privacy protection as dividing the note into small pieces and distributing the pieces among multiple operators means that no single operator will ever see enough of the note to understand what is written.
Ways to use KYBER SmartNote - Personal and business
- Need to send out meeting minutes quickly from your scribbled notes?
- With KYBER SmartNote, you no longer need to manually type your handwritten notes. Just take pictures of them and once the digitizing completes you can send the digitized text to everyone via e-mail, all without ever leaving the KYBER app!
- Schedule a meeting or event.
- Want to add something to your calendar? No problem. With KYBER SmartNote, you can write the date, time, title, and a description of the event and upload it. When the text gets digitized, the event details can be exported to your Google Calendar. No need to retype the contents and you'll never lose another piece of paper or forget a meeting again!
- Translate your handwriting to a different language or look something up in Google or Wikipedia.
- After digitizing your handwriting, there are a number of interesting features you can use. For example, you can translate selected text using Google Translate to and from the following languages: English, Japanese, and Chinese. You can also look up text in Google, Wikipedia, and a dictionary.
- Can KYBER SmartNote be sent to Twitter or Facebook?
- Yes. After the digitizing completes, you can open the details viewer for that note and export the text to Twitter and Facebook. There's no need to waste time retyping the contents.
