After purchasing KYBER SmartMarker...

Please get ready the activation card included with your package.

• If you've already downloaded the KYBER application, it's time to activate your KYBER SmartMarker.
• If it's your first time to use the KYBER service, you'll need to get KYBER for iOS or Android. Search for "KYBER" (grey icon) in the App Store or Android Market and download the application. After launching KYBER follow the instructions to create your free account.

1. Highlight or circle the text you want to digitize.
2. Using your smartphone, launch the KYBER app and tap the camera button.
   Select "KYBER SmartMarker" Mode and take a picture with the camera.
3. When the image appears, tap the "Preview" button. The preview image will appear where you can remove any areas you don't want digitized.
4. When everything looks good, tap the "Upload" button and your selected text will be automatically digitized!

Activation procedure

* Warning: If you don't activate your marker, digitizing will be counted as part of the regular KYBER service. * Any additional network connection costs incurred from using the device shall be incurred by the customer. * Please see our supported devices and system requirement details.

1. Search for and download KYBER (grey icon) in the AppStore or Android Market. If you are a first time user, follow the instructions to create your account.

2. Launch the application.
   iPhone: Tap the "Activation" button in the lower left corner of the main screen.
   Android: From the main screen, open the options menu and tap the "Activation" button.
   * If you're already using KYBER and the "Activation" button is not displayed please upgrade to the latest version of KYBER.
3. Scratch the back of the activation card with a coin. Tap "Snap QR Code" or "Manual Entry". For "Manual Entry", enter the 10-digit ID number found under the QR Code and press the activation button.
   
4. Now you're ready to go. Mark up a note and send it to KYBER. Only the marked portions will be digitized so you can easily make digital scrapbooks and much more!

 

• Depending on the image size and quality, there are cases when digitizing can't be performed 100%.
• The supported background paper colors are white and grey. If the paper is not white or grey, the marked sections may not be detected correctly.
• Your digitize character count will be subtracted from even for cases such as accidental uploads and low text recognition quality.
  

Reminders when using KYBER SmartMarker

Using the marker

• Single line highlighting and multi-line text selection via drawing a circle or box around the text are both supported.
• Please use only the thick tip of the marker.
• Please write on white or near-white paper.
• If marked areas aren't being detected well because the marker's tip is dull or the color has changed or is getting light, try tracing over the lines again or using a new marker so that the marked areas are clear.
• Selecting all the text by drawing a circle or rectangle over the entire page may not work correctly.
• Markers made by other companies are not supported.
  

Taking pictures

• It's best to take pictures in a bright area.
• Try to have no shadows when taking pictures.
• Paper should be placed against a plain background when taking pictures.
  

Paper recommendations

• Text written on white or near-white paper is supported.
• Colored portions of some images might be accidentally selected for digitizing.
  After taking a picture, the areas detected for digitizing will be displayed with blue lines around them. If you press the preview button, you'll be able to select the blue areas. Please remove the areas you don't want digitized before uploading.

• This service is intended for personal use, so please be careful with how you handle your digitized data. Also, if our company decides that your data might violate copyright laws we reserve the right to not digitize them.

 

Purchasing additional KYBER SmartMarker digitize tickets

If your KYBER SmartMarker still has ink left after digitizing 5,000 characters you can purchase additional tickets from our homepage.

* You must activate at least one KYBER SmartMarker before you can purchase additional digitize tickets.
* You can purchase regular KYBER digitize tickets at any time.

 

How to purchase

[ KYBER for iOS/Android ]
1. Launch the KYBER application and tap the information button.
   
2. Tap "Buy" next to the remaining KYBER SmartMarker character count. When the "SmartMarker Ticket" purchase screen opens, tap "Buy" again.
   

[ KYBER for Windows ]
1. Launch KYBER and click "Digitize left: ***" in the top-right.

2. When the ticket selection screen opens, choose "KYBER SmartMarker 5,000 characters".

[ PC Website ]
1. Sign in to KYBER and select "Purchase Tickets" from the right menu.
   
2. Select "KYBER SmartMarker 5,000 characters" and proceed to pay by Credit Card or PayPal.
