O-RID Co. Ltd.'s KYBER text digitizing service adds support for KOKUYO S&T's CamiApp series. The memo looks just like ordinary paper. You write as you normally would with a regular pen. However, take a picture of the paper you wrote on with your camera and upload it. Then all the text in the image will be converted to digital text and saved for you. From there, you can use the text to send e-mails, export it to popular services, edit it and copy it to be used in other programs!

Activation procedure

After purchasing Twin Ring Memo <CamiApp> (50 digitize pages), begin by activating it. After that, you'll be able to use the text digitizing service for your handwriting.

  1. Search for and download KYBER (grey icon) in the AppStore or Android Market. If you are a first time user, follow the instructions to create your account.

  2. After the application starts up, tap the "Activation" button in the lower left corner of the main screen.
  3. To activate a note, tap "Activation" on the main screen and then "Snap QR Code" or "Manual Entry". For "Manual Entry", enter the 10-digit ID number found under the QR Code and press the activation button.
  4. Now you're ready to go. Just write on a CamiApp page and send it to KYBER. All your handwriting will be converted to digital text which you can use in many convenient ways such as sending e-mails and doing keyword searches.

Reminders when using CamiApp with KYBER

■After activation, the number of digitizable items will be added and displayed in the application.

■CamiApp (メ－CA90S－01) was designed to digitize handwriting written directly on the note. If used in another way, the note might not be digitized.

■There are several camera modes when taking a picture.

»CamiApp mode
Use this mode when taking pictures of CamiApp (Twin Ring A7) notes. You can't use this mode to take pictures of anything else.

»KYBER mode
In this mode, you can take pictures of everything, including CamiApp (Twin Ring A7), KYBER SmartNote, business cards, and images without text. However, it uses a different pricing plan so please see our service plans for details.


■Expiration: You have three years to digitize all your items following activation.

■This product uses the black cover and top rings of the note as cues for recognizing the paper. If the picture is not taken correctly, errors might occur.

  • »Correct position

    The paper is straight and the black cover is visible on all four sides. Please take the picture like this.

  • »Dark background
    If the note is placed on a dark background the paper might not be recognized correctly. Instead, take the picture against a light background.
  • » Paper not straight
    If the paper is crooked and the back cover cannot be seen clearly an error might occur when taking the picture
  • » Note is tilted
    If the picture is taken from a small angle, the paper should still be recognized. However, if the tilt becomes too large, errors might occur.

Ways to use CamiApp with KYBER - Personal and business

Send your handwriting to others!

After digitizing your handwriting with KYBER, a menu will appear for you to send e-mails and export to popular services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Evernote. Because the text is already digitized, there is no need to retype the contents making it really fast and convenient!

Translate your handwriting to a different language or look something up in Google or Wikipedia.

After digitizing your handwriting, you can translate selected text using Google Translate to and from the following languages: English, Japanese, and Chinese. You can also look up text in Google, Wikipedia, and a dictionary without ever leaving the KYBER app!
